Great companion to Blender interested....
I got hold of the 3D program "Blender" by pure chance one day. I did not take me long time realizing that it had potential even though I thought the GUI very confusing. This book is an absolute must-have title if you plan on doing anything serious with Blender, and are a newcomer to the program and it's functions. The layout is good and feels inspiring and the fact that there are a lot of coulour in it makes it more 'present' than simple black & white. So to conclude: If you like blender but feel overwhelmed by it - then this book is a need-to-buy-item!
The essential Blender Support package
The best thing about those in the Blender Community is that they're so hands on. I have read tutorial guides in the past that don't just tell you to do stuff letting suggestion be your guide. Those who write about Blender seem anxious for you to actually use it as well. The style of tutorial almost always begins 'Fire up Blender and delete the default plane'.
The Blender interface is so different that any gentler approach might scare you away as frustration is bound to be your constant bedfellow until you've got your head around the Blender world.
The other thing that struck me immediately is that users will constantly entice you with promising 3D landscapes that have been produced by some Blender whizz. Rather than being off putting the evident power of Blender makes these a goad to the learning instinct.
Following online tutorials and the instructions in the book I can see the light of my first game at the end of the long Planet Blender tunnel, whereas before I didn't even know where to begin...
A required purchase for the beginner...
3D artwork is a creative way to use your imagenation and really bring something to life. This book and BLENDER are a really great starting block for those who wish to animate, create games or work with 3D art. So far I've created some super little animations and I'm considering work on a whole CGI film all from my tesktop (which will take forever). This book leads to greater things and without it you will just not understand blender and soon get bored and delete it.
