Confusing, but useful if you work at it
This book can be very confusing and hard to follow at times, even when dealing with topics I thought I understood. The main problem with it is that it is clearly designed to be read beginning to end, but the order the work is covered in does not match that of the course I am using it on. It does contain much material that is useful, though, but I probably wouldn't recommend it as an introductory textbook.
