My first aid guide!
This book saved me the trouble of having to pay for another examination, after weighing up the costs of that and this book, it was by far the better option!!

After reading through all the course materials the reason I chose this book as opposed to any of the others on CIW Foundations is because the last thing I wanted was another huge thick book to have to trawl my way through, and overall I find the Dummies books to be very user-friendly. It gives handy hints as regards what Prosoft wants you to know, with a splendid CD-Rom which includes plenty of practice exam questions and other useful tools without having to fork out any more money. Coupled with the very useful information on how to prepare for the exam itself along with a tear-out "cheat" sheet at the front to enable you to study practically anywhere, when you get the odd spare moment, it really made my life a lot easier. In fact this book practically became my life-line during my studying!

However, the only word of caution I would add is that perhaps because this book is fairly new, they haven't quite ironed out all the proof-reading errors, and as it originates from the US, they had a rather annoying habit of using the word "most" in place of "almost". But this is a minor inconvenience worth overlooking, as it really was the better option for me anyway, because I passed first time round!! Hurrah!!

CIW Foundations Course by ProSoft
I found this book was excellent. Especially when it came to revising for the CIW Foundations exam. Focus was given to points that would and did come up in the exam, alternative ways to digest the information were given along with questions at the end of each chapter. I loved this book and highly recommend it. I got 80% in the CIW Foundations exam and I owe it to this book. It is by no means suitable as the only book of study though.
