Customer Reviews
Some good effects, but not very dynamic
The effects in here are good on screen, but you get the impression they're done 'long hand' rather than dynamically, which could save time. The dots flying in to make a word is a good example. A bit long-winded, but easy. Therefore it's a good book for beginners to intermediate users of Flash who want nice effects right now, without having to learn lots of code first.
There is some Actionscript in the book, of course, but generally the projects aren't that code-heavy. The title word 'techniques' suggested to me that it would be a bit more techy than it was.
Staright to the point book, but not for beginners.
This is a straight to the point book, no beating around the bush. it takes you right to how to create stuning Flash effects as well as using actionscript.
The chapters on Form validation, and 3D Book user interface were superb. I recommend this book for those who know basic Flash but not advanced users. You'll find a huge amount of materials to add to your website if you have one.
