You must know by now—since you’ve heard it at least a million times since kindergarten—that eating too much junk food and other poor quality, empty–calorie foods, will make you look and feel lousy and ruin your health. And you also know that eating a balanced diet will help keep you healthy and looking good. But did you know that there are foods that actually heal? Harassed by hay fever? Try garlic or onions, or if you prefer something sweet, try papaya or pineapple. Bugged by dermatitis? Broccoli and kale can stop the itch, so can salmon and tuna. For earaches you might try ginger, walnuts, onions, or papaya. And chili peppers are great for relieving the symptoms of bronchitis.

Customer Reviews
A book more about Food than Healing Foods.
I was very disappointed when I received this book in the post. I was hoping that the book would be a concise but accurate guide to what we should be eating to suit our bodies. The advice the book gave was I think already quite obvious to anyone who picked up the book.
The book is really a guide to FOOD rather than HEALING FOOD. There is not enough reference to illnesses and ailments and not enough attention to the different characteristics the body may have such as cold, heat, dampness etc...
If you are really interested in Healing Foods then this is not the book for you. If however you want a book with basic advice of what foods we should eat (advice such as avoid caffeine and cola, but drink lots of water) and some nice recipes then this may be the book for you. A real shame.
