Customer Reviews

excellent, user friendly tutorial5
This book is a must for anyone wanting either to start from scratch with Dreamweaver or to progress from having learned the basics. It's divided up into 3 sections, so you can easily identify which level of skill is covered by each project and start wherever suits your own level.

I had got to a certain point with building websites [ie just completed 2 intro courses on ASP] and needed to gain a fuller understanding of how to access Dreamweaver's dynamic data area. I searched around for a while [on Amazon, of course!] and liked the look of what this book had to offer. When I got it I was more than satisfied. I concentrated most on the second section - the football project - and found the style of writing in this section and the book overall very user-friendly and easy to follow. However, if you do hit a problem with your own code at any stage, you can go to the publisher's site and download code for the projects.

I would heartily recommend this book to anyone wishing to gain a good understanding of Dreamweaver - and have fun on the way! Even more to the point, this book has helped enormously in terms of my career progress.

Teaches Dreameweaver MX + Web Design Brilliantly5
When I first purchased this book I was just beginning to learn the basics of Dreamweaver MX. The great thing about this book is that it teaches you how to learn Dreamweaver MX AND Web Design at the same time.

The book is divided up into logical sections that introduce the main elements of Dreamweaver MX. The brilliant thing is that the authors have a running commentary on all of the steps and new theory that is introduced. As a result I learnt Dreamweaver MX and the theory behind effective web design too.

The book illustrates the construction of 3 increasingly complex websites moving from the very basic to a database website. There are many 'How it Works' sections where the authors describe the thinking behind the steps that they introduce. It's like having a conversation with expert web designers.

Great. Thank you Wrox. This book rocks :-)

Well structured and well written book5
This is the best 'how to' book I've ever come across. The writing style is simple and very effective. The authors know what they are on about and it's a very easy book to navigate. It is a book for beginners, but you can easily skip to the sections you are interested in. A good book to have on your shelf if you are a Dreamweaver MX developer, either new or experienced.
