Customer Reviews

Trouble is now the past tense5
I recently purchased Troubleshooting Your PC For Dummies, and read (most of it) cover to cover! I found it an "easy" read and enjoyable!

Surprisingly it covered several problems that I had already encountered and just about managed to sort out myself. I have to say I would have been less stressed had I have had the book and read it sooner!

As the other reviewer mentions this is the 2nd edition and covers XP! The author, Dan Gookin, gives his email address and web site and "welcomes" questions and comments! I thought I'd try it out and pestered him with an email, he did reply in a friendly and I have to say prompt manor!

The book is divided up into several sections that are easily navigated (some parts, typical of most if not all Dummies books, are quite humorous!! I had a little titter to myself on more than one occasion!) The parts are, Introduction, Troubleshooting Minor Irks and Quirks, Preventive Maintenance, and the Part of Tens. Each of those sections has a large "library" of smaller sections!

Next time I have a problem I will look it up in this book, I'm sure it will be covered!

I will be keeping this book on my shelf, with Laptops for Dummies, also by Dan, and well worth a read if you have a laptop!!
