Customer Reviews

best radiologic "all in one"-book ever written5
This is a book with so many hints, mnemonics and interesting information that it is even fun to read it. it gives you a short but important overview about all subspecialities of radilogy. A must for all residents in radiology.

Excellent synoptic text, let down by atrocious editing and a poor website.3
The Brant and Helms solution is thoughtfully organised and accurately referenced, covering a wide scope of essential radiological knowledge.

However, it is littered with editorial errors throughout. Some examples include Page 800, where Figure 29.2 has the GOJ A ring labelled as the B ring and vice versa, page 820 where the curious statement '(EMPHASIS EMPH-TYPE_ "itallic" >5)' appears randomly and page 830 where the sentence reads 'Pancreatic carcinoma may also encircle and obstruct the pancreas', when it should read duodenum. These errors constitute just two subsections; my copy is filled with handwritten corrections, which is inexcusable in a third edition. (Frankly the proof readers should not be employed as such in future)

The website is also largely disappointing, with fairly low resolution images, very few sample questions and infrequent updates or additions. The Americanised signs can also be mildly irritating/confusing.

In conclusion, if you can tolerate the appalling editing, it is an excellent radiological text. The MSK section is especially good and is essential reading for any radiologist (the separate MSK text authored by Helms is essentially lifted directly from this book). It may just be worth spending a little more on Grainger & Allison's alternative text, which is a far more polished product without the irritations described above.

Ordering logisitcs5
This is a great book, but Amazon are unable to deliver all four volumes correctly. Both myself and two others have had considerable difficulty getting the correct combination. i.e. two volume threes and one volume two etc. Beware!!!! I gave up in the end and ordered elsewhere.
