Average customer review:Product Description
A standard textbook for 25 years, "Surgical Exposures in Orthopaedics: The Anatomic Approach" is now in its fourth edition. Featuring 775 full-color illustrations, this atlas demonstrates the surgical approaches used in orthopedics and provides a surgeon's-eye view of the relevant anatomy. Each chapter details the techniques and pitfalls of a surgical approach, gives a clear preview of anatomic landmarks and incisions, and highlights potential dangers of superficial and deep dissection. The fourth edition describes new minimally invasive approaches to the spine, proximal humerus, humeral shaft, distal femur, proximal tibia, and distal tibia. Other highlights include new external fixation approaches for many regions and surgical approaches to the os calcis. New illustrations of the appendicular skeleton are included. New drawings show the important neurovascular structures that need to be protected.

great book for orthopaedic trainees
It has excellent diagrams and simple descriptions on exporsures to bones and joints in the body. Can use as a qiuck refference while the patient is prepared in theatre. However it needs to be up dated on certain areas and also it's too costly. Nevertherless ideal for a trainee to keep as a quick guide.
Anatomy good, exposures not good
Dissapointed with this book, it costs enough and enough has been made of it for me to think that it would provide a definitive guide to surgical exposure. unfortunately it has obviously not been updated for some time. wanted to plate a tibial plateau using lateral approach- not in it! Not bad as an antomy book but Snell is much cheaper.
Best book on Orthopaedic approaches
This book give clear understanding of most stuff. Forearm & shoulder written very well.
Hand & Spine areas are masterpieces. Hip section needs description as named approaches:
ilioinguinal, Watson Jones, Smithpeterson, Hardinge, Kocker & Southern to keep a
traditional touch. Knee arthoscopy needs modern description. Overall it is very informative.
