Customer Reviews

Pass the exam - this book is the business!5
Having recently taken CCNA and Network+ I decided to only briefly skim over chapters 1 to 4, but found the chapter summaries and review questions helpful. I found the description of DNS and particularly BIND very interesting in chapter 5. The latter 6 chapters cover the advanced TCP/IP objectives required for the 1DO-460 exam. I found the style very easy to read and understand, and there is very good coverage on SNMP, MIBs, and more interestingly on IPv6. I took the CIW exam today and got 97% on the advanced TCP/IP section. I only used this book, and all of the topics in the advanced section were pretty much new to me. Personally I could have done with more explanation on the / (slash) notation used in IPv6 prefixes, but I supplemented the book with a quick visit to Cisco's web site, which made things clearer. Apart from that I found the content completely self contained. Arguably there may have been scope for a few more exam tips in the text, although I thought the chapter review questions, and the two bonus exams on the CD did a very good preparation job for the real thing. I would highly recommend this book for anyone seeking CIW Internetworking Professional certification. I had no nasty surprises in the exam, and I feel that this book provided all the preparation material needed. Top job...
