Great overview
This handbook is essential reading for anyone interested in issues related to 'keeping the peace'. My favourite is a contribution by Fay Ballard, who delineates zones of conflict within domestic spheres in Northern Belfast.
Fantastic
As I once had the priviledge to be in conflict resolution class with Dr. Peter T. Coleman, I used this book to study the phenomenon of conflict and peacekeeping.
It is covering vast areas of the conflict resolution theories and is written in a flowing, easy to read, clear and direct way. In my opinion, it is the ultimate handbook for this subject, both for studying at the university, or simply for reading it out of interest.
As a bonus, the 960 pages and cleanly layouted hardcover makes it look beautiful and quite impressive in any bookshelf.
