Average customer review:Product Description
The Scott Mueller Library - Computer Dictionary is a complete reference on the terms and acronyms relating to computers, hardware, software, programming, data communications, and more. The book contains detailed explanations about each acronym rather than short, often empty standard dictionary definitions. Because the technology is often somewhat complex, the explanation associated with it must be as detailed and accurate as possible. Cross references to additional material in the text further explain a term or the technology. Directions to Web sites offer additional information. This is the one-stop resource for anyone trying to learn what a term/acronym in the computer technology area means.

From the Author
A solid, detailed, technical reference
This new, updated and expanded edition is alphabetically arranged by acronym, and has tables, distances, speeds, features, versions and hard-core technical information on current computing and data communications topics.
Entries have cross-references to other entries in the book, as well as world wide web references for further information.
This book has hundreds more definitions and pages than the first edition (which was published by O'Reilly & Associates), and yet is still under $20 -- what a bargain!
Topics such as AGP, SONET, MMX, Flash Memory, CMOS, SDRAM, Iridium, PCS, Cache, ADSL, LMDS, SIMMs, IrDA and on and on and on are covered. There's even detailed information on what Moore's Law really is, on ISBNs, UPCs and Leap Years (a big issue for year 2000).
I am a Data Communications consultant, and began writing this as notes of what I needed to remember -- so it's just the facts, no fluff.

Customer Reviews
Excellent, excellent, excellent
This is the best book of its type I have seen, and frankly pretty much all of the others aren't worth getting compared to this one. This is simply an excellent book. If you're looking for a list of computing terms and acronyms, both historical and up-to-date, and full, concise explanations, then do yourself a favour and GET THIS BOOK.
very detailed!
I thought I knew what most computer terms meant before I got this dictionary. When I started reading it I couldn't believe the detail about each word and acronym. There's even information in the dictionary that I have been trying to find for a while. It was all there and more. I loved it and there are so many words.
