About the Author

Gareth Branwyn is a well-known technology journalist and self-proclaimed "reluctant geek." He is writer and editor for Wired, ID and Esquire magazines, and has written many books on technology topics, including, Mosaic Quick Tour (the first World Wide Web book ever published), Jargon Watch: A Pocket Dictionary for the Jitterati, Jamming the Media: A Citizen's Guide, and The Happy Mutant Handbook. A great book for the beginner
This book was well worth its price. It teaches you how to gather electronics parts and tools for building simple robots and how to use those tools. You also learn the history of robotics and the definition of what a robot is. In the end of the book is a list of robot books and links that will keep you busy for months.
