Reviews of previous editions:
`Carson's work is most valuable and his perceptive remarks will serve
pastors and students well.'
David S. Dockery, 'Review and Expositor'
`This invaluable little book will find a valued place on the shelves of all
those who regularly read and/or buy commentaries ... As a resource this is
unmatched.'
Peter M. Head, 'Churchman'
`I recommend this bibliographic essay highly. Readers of differing
theological orientation will still find this a helpful list to put into the
hands of students and pastors.'

Customer Reviews
Wonderful read
Now in its 5th edition. I just love this book, Carson's pithy and sometimes withering comments are great. Mostly his comments are one or two liners. He does comment on a great number of commentaries as well as commentary sets. Most helpful is his summary of recommendations at the end. After that I check out the reviews on Amazon.
Great content but horrible format
It's hard to believe that one man could have read so much! The breadth of this survey makes it a fantastic resource, although many of Carson's notes are rather brief. However, the format of it is truly horrible. Finding what you want to know is difficult because of the lack of simple things like paragraphs. A star-rating scheme or similar would make this much more user-friendly.
