An enjoyable read
This is the first nicole jordan book that I read and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Having watched her mother languish away for a lost love, Raven Kendrick vows never to surrender her heart. But when her life erupts in scandal, she is forced to accept a marriage proposal from the wickedly sensuous owner of London's most notorious gaming hell. Though fiercely drawn to her enigmatic rescuer, Raven battles to resist her husband, whose caresses promise ecstasy beyond her wildest fantasies. To save the reputation of an innocent girl nearly ruined by his brother, Kell Lasseter sacrifices his freedom to wed the dazzling debutante. Long scorned for his Irish blood and dark past, Kell cannot deny that this enchanting spitfire is unlike other society misses...any more than he can quell his smoldering desire for her. Torn between loyalty to his brother and his growing feelings for his rebellious bride, Kell must somehow free Raven's reluctant heart before they can know the ecstasy of true love.
I loved Kell and Raven's characters. They are both strong characters with alot of depth.
Definitely a good read
Another brilliant book from Nicole Jordan!
I started reading Nicole Jordan's books a while ago and i started with her first novel in this series, Seduction.
But from the second book we were introduced to the character Raven, who was featured in all of the stories, leading up to her own one.
i was really happy when i discovered that Nicole Jordan decided to give Raven her own story, mainly because all of her other books where centered on the men finding their lovers/wives. it was refreshing to have Raven as a main character instead of a supporting one.
Raven's story does not dissapoint! Again, creating the male of the story-Kell as an untitled, owner of a gambling hall-was great because it was different from Raven meeting a Lord or an Earl. it also showed the desperation of her situation to accept an untitled position-especially when Nicole Jordan points out how much a title meant to Raven, who in turn was trying to respect her deceased mother's wishes.
the love story was great! i like how even though they marry and have made the ultimate pledge- they still have to get to know eachother and build a relationship.
A good read for those who like historical romances, and who like their main characters to have a few secrets of their own.
