Customer Reviews
Custeriana - par excellence!
The authors use many rare photographs, taken mostly in the twenty years following the battle, to tell the story of the Little Bighorn. Modern photographs of the old picture subjects generally show how little the field has changed in more than a century.
In this book the story incorporates the latest battlefield findings and offers a markedly different view from the old interpretations of "the last stand". The reproductions of the many photographs are excellent, but you will need a magnifying glass to see the level of detail discussed in the narrative.
In summary, a superb book, the best of the many I have read on the subject.

Where custer fell
This is one book any student of the Little Bighorn can't do without.Old photographs matched with modern views gives the reader an excellent idea of the actual terrain this action was fought over.
The huge area of the field, from Custer Hill to the Reno/Benteen site is brought home to reader, completely destroying the image given by the likes of Errol Flynn.
Excellent photographic reproduction makes this a classic book on the subject. In my opinion, only a few modern colored panoramic or aerial shots are missing from this most accomplished volume.
