Barbarian Culture
This book is not about religion or history, it is about culture. This is an exellent book that i really enjoyed, well written and informative. It compares Nordic/Germanic and Celtic cultures. It tells us about animal worship, animal sacrifice as well as human sacrifice, battle godesses, holy landmarks, feasts and festivities, ceremonies, the taking of heads, fertility and war gods, rebirth and death, seers and druids, the begining and the end, as well of other interesting stuff. You will never need another book on Barbarian/Pagan culture as this tells you all the interesting stuff. If you want to learn about English, German, Danish and Scandinavian pre christian religion i recommend "Gods and Myths of Northern Europe".
