Customer Reviews
Brilliantly detailed, yet lacking clarity at times.
Burne Hogarth has an incredible talent for subverting realistic creases and compression wrinkles into his art. Readers will no doubt be satisfied with his 144 page book, explaining in heavy detail the laws and physics of 'dynamic wrinkles and drapery'. He does however, tend to go into intense description on every single page without pause; at times it can be difficult to follow what Hogarth is trying to teach. All in all, this is a well thought out book, wonderfully illustrated (there is at least one fully detailed drawing per page) and with a someonewhat anal attention to detail.
Good Book For Aspiring Comic Artists
As the father of the Tarzan character and art, and the co-founder of the School of Visual Arts with silas rhodes, Burne Hogarth is far qualified to teach the fundamentals of great figure drawing. His Drawing Series of Books should be on the shelves of any aspiring comic artist.
