A handy reference and interesting background
This interesting reference book contains a number of essays on subjects of interest to the Sherlock Holmes reader, interspersed with summaries of the stories and Holmesian quizzes and mindteasers. The essays cover subjects such as money, titles, non-canonical Holmes stories and Holmes fandom worldwide. All provide a useful level of detail to provide a greater level of understanding to the reader, without becoming too academic. All-in-all, much recommended.
For a similar useful and entertaining reference for readers of Victorian literature, try "What Jane Austen Ate and Charles Dickens Knew".
