This is a guide for all family lawyers, designed to be equally useful as an aide-memoire for the hard-pressed, experienced practitioner and as an introductory text for the newly qualified. It aims to help the busy practitioner avoid the most common pitfalls encountered when following procedure and preparing documents for presentation to the court, thereby avoiding unnecessary work and the possibility of incurring a wasted cost order, whilst contributing to speeding up the whole process. This book offers step-by-step guidance through the procedures encountered both in everyday practice and in respect of less common applications. Fully up to date to take into account the ancillary relief scheme and including 30 precedents and forms, this book should prove a useful reference for the busy family lawyer. As well as the above, the book covers pension-sharing orders and a new chapter on reciprocal enforcement of maintenance orders.

Nice easy to read book
Found this book extremely helpful. It guided me through my first few months as a trainee in the family department. It's written in easy to read language and is extremely clear on the key concepts of divorce, ancillary relief and private law children. My only gripe is that it doen't go into enough detail, but it is an ideal starting point which guides you in the right direction!
Would highly recommend it to people new to family law!
