Synopsis
This book is built around an interfacing module that is connected to the USB port of a PC or laptop. Full details on constructing, programming and using the module are given including details of the PCB design and components used. This means that there is no delving around inside the PC which has prevented many beginners even embarking on interfacing in the past. It is also one of the only ways of simply interfacing a lap top.

Useful to some, but not what I wanted
This book is useful if you want a quick and easy way of interfacing to a pc using USB. It basically outlines one way of doing it - it's a perfectly valid way, and can be used for many different types of hardware. However if you don't want to use the modules and interfaces that the author used, you will have read all the useful information by the end of the first chapter. It is not a reference book, nor is it a book about the concepts of USB interfacing. It gives you one way to do it and one way only. If you want to use a different method, the manufacturer's data sheet would be a better place to start.
