Good place to start5
Its a great place to start reading about the History of Hadith but I think it was written for the Shaf'i school in mind as some apparent contridictions in hadith are actually things that only the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have ordered. They are called Khasais or specialites for a him only to rule upon.
