Sant, King of Ceredigion, had very cold feet. His flesh was a chilly blue. He untied his leather sandals and threw them to one side.
"Bedwyr!" he thundered. "Come and wash my feet! That should warm them up!"
Sant was an ugly customer at the best of times. Safer to humour him. Bedwyr hurried over to the cauldron of hot water spluttering over the kitchen fire. He scampered up to sant at full speed, hot water splashing over the sides of his golden bowl.
"Its like living on an iceberg here today, Your Majesty!" said Bedwyr slyly. Bedwyr was a lying dog. There was a cosy open fire on the floor of the old hall, its flames licking the glowing red logs.
"Thats enough of your nonsense! Quickly! You Scoundrel!" Sant growled sullenly.
