excellent introductory text
Like all of the Bristol Classical Press re-issues of classical-text commentaries, this is an excellent vade-mecum for the 6th former or 1st year undergraduate. It is also very useful for the teacher of this level student, as it gives more than enough detail for what will be required of him/her in an exam, without the need for too much filtering of the seriously academic material. That said, there is always something that even the very experienced can learn from this excellent series of commentaries, and this is no exception. My only criticism would be that I'm not fussy on the Greek font, though this is a trivial criticism. I thoroughly recommend it.
A good book for commited readers
I'm 15 and studied this book in school. First time reading it was possibly the most baffling experience just a load of words, no meaning, no dramatic effects, utter rubbish. The 2nd time I read through it I really enjoyed it. It's facinating to see the way drama has evolved since this time and the stories tell huge amounts about the Romans. A great book to read if your willing to commit some time to it.
