Synopsis
Michel Foucault's work has affected the teachings of such diverse disciplines as literary criticism and criminology. Arguing that the definitions of abnormal behaviour are culturally constructed, Foucault explored the unfair divisions between who meet and who deviate from social norms.

Good comic introduction to Foucault4
If you're struggling with social theory, then the 'for Beginners' series is definitely for you. This book summarises the main works of Foucault such as 'The History of Sexuality', 'Discipline and Punish' and 'Madness and Civilization' in a few cartoon-filled pages. Although a lot of the details of Foucault's work are inevitably lost, it will give you a good basic idea of his major contribution to philosophy and social theory.
