Customer Reviews
Pleasantly surprised
After reading the "Disappointed" review, I was apprehensive about this book but nevertheless sent for it to decide for myself. As a seller of modern and traditional Limoges boxes I found the book to be very well illustrated, informative, and gave a good example of what is available. I have this book available for customers to browse through, and it has been very well received.
I hate it when so called lovers of the porcelain try to attach a snob appeal to the old and disdain to the new innovative pieces. After all quality items today are the antiques of the future.
Disappointment!
I was really waiting for the book but it turned out to be a major disappointment: most of it's pages were full of those porcelain box-shaped pigglets, houses, flowers etc. Very little information on the classical Limoges boxes which are to my mind much more stylish and pretty than the contemporary boxes. Chapters on the Limoges history and preparation process of the porcelain boxes were well written but they add to the value of the book very little. After all I returned the book back, as I understood that I won't be tempted to page it over again.
