Editorial Reviews

From the Author
A-Z of spellcraft
This book is for time challenged people who don't always have hours to research the "right" components, words, or process for specific spells. I spent an entire year going through my house to see what could be used, in various ways, for effective and meaningful magic. Nonetheless, I hope readers use this as a "starting point" and allow creativity guide them.

Lifting the lid off spellcasting5
This book is sufficiently covered by the reviews already submitted, so I feel I'm adding redundant information. But: this was the book I was looking for. It's a plain no-pictures paperback and a short but fairly comprehensive DIY folk magic book with an almost endless list of suggested spells by way of examples. Its great virtue is that it exposes the bare bones of spellcasting, so that beginning witches no longer have to force themselves through embarassing rituals that don't work for them and people who just want to know how folk magic works get their info without having a lot of unnecessary doctrine stuffed down their throats as well. The "affirmation" part of spellcasting sounds like the methods of of Shakti Gawain and other positive-affirmation gurus who use absolutely none of the traditional witchcraft props, possibly making this the ideal book to dispel superstitions about witchcraft.

Excellent information about SpellCraft.4
This book provides so much information about so many topics it suprised me! It contains great information about what magick is and when it is used in religion, the history of magick, what spells are and the components of spells, 10 steps to creating your very own folk spells (which may make some people including myself wonder who all those guardians she wants you to pray too are and if they really exist?), 318 positive spells from Abundance spells to Zeal spells. Some of the spells do require some odd items and she doesn't explain how to cast spells very well and it also makes you wonder who came up with the spell and if anyone has actually tried it, but it does contain some practical and complex (some people like complex spells which aren't necessary for magickal success according to the author and myself) for many instances, wants, and needs. Next, it contains good information on how to create magickal items such as Windchimes, wands, candles....etc. It then contains good and extensive correspondence information about so many items and also a few pages reguarding deities and what they are related to and where they are of origin. Although some places in this book make me wonder, the book itself is good and the author is one of the most positive people I have ever read. So, if you want to add a little magick into your life, read Spinning Spells, Weaving Wonders Modern Magic for Everyday Life by Patricia Telesco!!!!
