Ho Chi Minh Selected Writings review
Ho Chi Minh's Selected Writings contains documents written in a time period spanning from his early involvement in the French
Communist Party right through to being President of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam. The book is split into 3 parts:
Works from the first era are set during the Anti-French resistance lasting right up to the August Revolution (1945). These contain important
accounts of some of the perfidious crimes which occurred in Indochina under the rule of French Colonialists and also Japanese Imperialists
during the war-time occupation.
Part two begins with the Declaration of Independence (Sept. 2nd 1945) and includes many publications detailing the Viet Nam Workers
Party's policies and tactics during the War of Resistance (1946-1954), ending with the Dien Bien Phu victory.
The writings of the last part begin with the long anticipated peace-time in the DRVN and continue through to the war against the US
aggressors. The book ends with Ho Chi Minh's final testament (May 10th 1969).
This collection of documents helps to portray Ho Chi Minh's vision of socialism and contribution to its consolidation in Viet Nam, including; the
Patriotic Emulation movement initiative; writings demanding criticism and self-criticism for the success of democratic centralism; notes
on Revolutionary Morality, all showing the determination and integrity of a man who devoted his life to national independence,
democracy, peace, prosperity and re-unification of Viet Nam.
From an historical standpoint this collection of speeches and writings is of utmost importance to understanding the virue of the
man who drove a nation to shape its history and sow the seeds for the future of the country of Viet Nam
