Excellent resource!
Jane Doonan's books is a wonderful and rich source for anyone who wants to discover more about the power of reading pictures. She provides detailed examples which, when read with the picture book, serve as a friendly invitation to explore new ways of looking at pictures. She also includes information about the importance of integrating these conversations within the classroom and provides an appendix with definitions for the novice-experienced picture book voyeaur.
Excellent! Doonan is an outstanding critic and has an amazing way of looking at pictures. A must for pre-service teachers, teachers, teacher educators, parents, grandparents, etc., etc.,
