Big book a little disappointing
Superfast delivery and well packed.

This book is no lightweight and aimed (maybe it should be) at the serious antique collector. Those with a seriously healthy bank balance looking for Georgian or earlier stuff will find it a useful reference, but for amateur collectors starting with a few inexpensive pieces there appears to be a lack of information about 20th Century silversmiths.

Overall the book was a little disappointing - it is supposed to be a 2009 revised edition but still 20 years out of date as hallmarks listed only up to 1989. I had a feeling I was looking at the Victorian version - needs a lot more revision to bring it into the 21st Century.

Large books always look impressive, but whether the three inch margin on every page is really needed is debatable. Size matters - big books for big houses, smaller please for small bookshelves. Could there be condensed version like the Argos catalogue perhaps?
