Customer Reviews

Absolutely excellent - best book about bullying i have read5
This is the best how to deal with 'bullying' book that me or my son have read - and we've read a lot. Some other books about bullying are ok, but this, is brilliant, I hope he, and others write more like it. It teaches so many good values, of self defence without hurting the other person, of inner strength, the values of practice, persitance in practice, understanding, overcoming fear and achieving strength and courage.

The self defence move that Socrates teaches Danny is excellent - 'to get off the tracks' if they push, you pull, if you pull, they push, self defence without any effort (anybody who has let go of a rope that they are pulling together with another person on the other side who then falls from the floor has seen how this can work so well as it is similar to this), using the bullies strength to put them on the floor out of harms way.

And as I have already said, it teaches so much more. I wish there were more clever, practical spiritual books for children, my son (from a young age too)loves asking me the 'big' questions, and discussing them and the spiritual side of life.

It is one of my son's favourite book at the moment, and I am glad that at last, we now have a book about bullies and being bullied, that he clicks so well with, and I know it will help him deal with a couple of people in his school, in a peaceful and strong way.

The best way to escape from a problem is to solve it5
Danny Morgan is the new boy in town and on his first day at school, he is confronted by the school bully, called Carl. At first fear takes over our hero, yet with the help of his mentor Soc, Danny learns the way of the warrior and finally confronts his fear head-on.

Both my daughter and I think this book is brilliant, as it teaches your child to use his/her emotional intelligence when it comes to dealing with sensitive issues such as bullying. It also teaches us that we do not need to resort to violence or run away from things we F.E.A.R (Fictitious Events Appearing Real).

If you enjoyed reading this book to your child, then you may also be interested in reading: The Way of the Peaceful Warrior: A Book That Changes Lives by Dan Millman, which is more suitable for parents.
