About the Author

Excellent book for speaking English well
My wife already had good English but since using this book I have noticed a big improvement in her comprehension when with friends and her everyday vocabulary is much more natural. This is a great book if you want to really improve your everday English.

Fantastic book for foreign speakers
This is a fantastic book for foreign speakers of English who already have good basics. When I came to England from Italy my grammar wasn't too bad, but I Had to cope with many idioms and phrasal verbs and English has such a huge vocabulary. I got totally fed up sitting bored in English language schools and I didn't need exams. And then I found this book Practical Everyday English. After reading the first two chapters, I began to recognise more expressions and with constant practice I really improved. This new version has a CD which i have found very useful because they speak really quickly, just like in real life. This book has saved me a lot of money in English classes. Advanced students don't need lessons...just this amazing book.

Smashing and Posh = Mind-blowing
This is by and large, in my opinion, the best book on daily english for advanced learners to date.
Before i've got hold this book i used to strive to understand soup operas and tv programs, how come? Because usually in schools and other books currently on the market we don't learn the essencial vocabulary, the daily vocabulary in use.
That's what Steve did accomplish in his book, as a native speaker and also an english teacher, he wisely chose the necessary vocabulary to master informal conversation, this book is a bless for all english learners.
A must buy book for all those who wish to speak english in a high level.
This new edition is a lot more posh and fully colored in comparison with the previous edition, the new one comes with an audio cd, recorded by different sorts of british english accents which will aid the students. The informal texts and examples are more oriented towards british english.
Buy this book without delay, you won't regret.
