Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
This is not a book of theories. It does not tell you about foods, vitamins and minerals so that you can pick the ones that might (if you are lucky) get you the results you want. You are reading it to look and feel better NOW.
The author has worked as a pioneering alternative health professional in a GP practice, treating hundreds of people referred to her by a doctor. Using the methods described in this book, she has helped people with hormonal, digestive, nerve and skin problems, asthma, chronic fatigue, migraine, arthritis, sinus congestion, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, with success rates of 50 to nearly 90 per cent. Most were able to reduce or stop their medication.

How to use this book
You can use this book both to prevent health problems and to treat them. The recipes in Part V are delicious enough for anyone to use every day, even for entertaining guests. When they were first published in the Gourmet Nutritional Therapy Cookbook, the author received positive feedback from all quarters about the high quality and simplicity of the recipes and the book became a favourite cookbook for many people.
If you have a specific health problem to treat, you will need to start with the Nutritional Therapy Questionnaire on pages 21-22. Depending on your scores, you will be directed to further information and to one of the specific health programmes on pages 41, 46-47 or 61, all of which are supported by the recipes. This approach can be used by anyone with a chronic (long-term) health problem. Your body is its own best healer - all it needs is your help with:
--Avoiding the foods and other substances which hinder its internal processes,
--Getting enough of the raw materials it needs delivered to the cells which carry out these processes.
Parts I and II also provide plenty of information to help you understand the health programmes and to get motivated with the sometimes difficult task of changing your eating habits.
Much research has also been carried out using special diets and food supplements against ailments and illnesses. Part III summarizes some of that research, which suggests more specific ways of helping yourself fight these problems.
Part IV is about cooking techniques, helping you get the most out of your food and helping you to find substitutes for foods you have cut out.
Wishing you good health!
