Average customer review:Product Description
A clearly written book for the general reader on the search for extraterrestrial life. It is beautifully illustrated and provides readers with a substantial overview of life on Earth before taking them to potential habitats elsewhere in the Solar System and in the newly discovered planetary systems beyond our own. This book is bang up to date and is an absolute must for anyone really interested in learning about our cosmic ancestry. The author is enthusiastic about making the latest scientific discoveries understandable to a wider public. He devotes much of his time to talking about astronomy to non-scientific audiences. Reading this book will open up the entire subject to the reader who will then have a far better understanding of the subject as and when new discoveries are made and reported during the course of the next decade or so.

Customer Reviews
Great for the general reader in astrobiology
This is an extract from a review by Professor John Parnell of Aberdeen University:
I was very impressed by the writing style and the breadth of coverage, and I can honestly say I enjoyed it. It is well-suited to the general reader, as wide-ranging concepts are explained
well. Even the difficult subject of DNA/RNA gets a good treatment, although there remain a few omissions of clarity here. As astrobiology is really expanding at a great rate, the timing of publication is ideal.
I will happily recommend the book to people interested in astrobiology.
