Average customer review:Product Description
An entertaining and useful book about giving up tobacco for those who thoroughly enjoy smoking but realise it's time to stop. Most smokers hate being lectured about their habit by sanctimonious prigs who think they should give it up. And yet there does come a time when they realise they need to stop smoking. Richard Craze's diary tells it straight: what it's really like to give up smoking. The headaches, the sleeplessness, the irritability. And The Voice. He's been there, and his diary reports back from the front line. It may not be pleasant, but it's honest. This is the diary of a dedicated and happy smoker who is now not smoking.

Editorial Reviews
Guradian - Emily Wilson
I've dipped back into the book and the author guy, Richard Craze, can be pretty funny.
From the Author
Richard Craze is a professional author who writes on a range of subjects. He is many things to many different people - writer, father, husband, lover, forgiving friend - but above all else he is a smoker. Currently he is not smoking but he is still all the other things.
From the Back Cover
We’ve all read them, the give-up-smoking guides written by sanctimonious little beasts who assume that you will find it easy.
Well, it ain’t.
Giving up smoking has never been easy.
Nor is it something we smokers look forward to.
And yet there does come a time when, no matter how cool and grown up it is, we have to become not smokers.
Richard Craze’s guide may or may not help you give up smoking but what it is guaranteed to do is get you to look at smoking in a new way. It will also make you laugh, entertain you and distract you for long enough that you might not notice you haven’t had a fag for a while – it also gives you something to do with your hands while you’re not smoking.
It is a guaranteed laugh for non-smokers and will add to their smug superiority at us poor addicts.
This is a guide written by a dedicated and happy smoker who is now not smoking. Here’s how he did it. Here’s how to do it without the trauma, the withdrawal symptoms, the twitching, the bad temper. Yeah, right, in your dreams.
Customer Reviews
I've quit!
Great book! I can't quite believe it but since finishing the book I haven't had a fag. I've tried lots of other books (and patches, gum and everything else)and nothing worked for more than a day or two. For a start this guy doesn't patronise you, and the book is really funny. But he also gets you to understand why you smoke and how you have to give up in your head before you bother trying to quit - might not make sense but it will if you read the book. I've never reviewed a book on amazon before, but this has had such a big effect I just thought I should.
This is the one that did it for me
I too, like the author, have been a fully committed life long smoker. Now I'm not smoking at the moment thank you. How? Read this happy smoker's guide and you'll find out. You'll also laugh a lot - at fags and yourself. This isn't just a give-up-smoking book although it does do that as well; it is a well written and very funny account of what tobacco does to all of us. This is a seriously funny account of how the author himself stopped smoking - and stopped for good and without all the usual anst he had been through before. Smoke or not, have a good read. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
It helps you give up smoking
What more do you need to know. This book is funny, practical and absolutley fantastic. The author is now an ex smoker (or not smoker as he says) and I can follow in his footsteps. I don't smoke since reading this - and you won't either.
