From the Author
We are final year medical students on a graduate entry course and were successful in a number of entrance exams and interviews four years ago. At that time we found it difficult, due to somewhat inaccessible and inadequate information, to know how to prepare for the entrance examinations and for graduate entry to medicine in general. We were fortunate in both having backgrounds heavily allied to medicine, in addition to some genuinely inspiring colleagues and friends. We recognised that many equally capable candidates did not have our fortunate, if not privileged, background. Therefore, we hope to pass on to you the wisdom of those same inspirational colleagues, as well as the knowledge and experience that we have gained through consultation with hundreds of gradudate entry applicants to all fourteen graduate entry medical courses.

Customer Reviews
some good info but a lot of fluff, the MSAG is better
i was looking for a book with information and facts to get into graduate entry medicine and reading the reviews on amazon i bought this one first and i found this to be a book with some information and a lot of fluff. The beginning particularly was about thinking of medicine, what it means to become a doctor...I guess that s just not the book i was looking for. If you want something to help you think if medicine is right for you, etc.. this is good. But if you already know medical school application is what you want to do, then a large part of the book will be useless. There are some good tips and summary tables but overall i felt I was reading very wordy sentences. I then got this other book, the medical school application guide (MSAG) for graduate applicants in the UK and Ireland that is much more to the point. For each school, it gives all the information relevant to application and admission: stats, requirements, selection process, interview structure. However nothing on helping you think if it s the right career for you. The MSAG also has a better interview help section i found. I d recommend that one for graduate entry medicine applicants. the how to get into graduate entry medicine has good info but I found few things to be outdates whereas everything is for 2010 entry in the MSAG. Other seem to like this one so maybe different books work for different people but I much prefered the MSAG
A Great Buy!
This book is not a quick fix type book, it's a thinkers book, or so I like to think!
It's so useful to have all the same info in one place too. I get the impression that the attitudes are very 'current' as well; or at least that's the impression I've got at the open days.
I think it's going to be really useful for getting me into the zone before my interviews. A friend from last year's applications recommended it to me and she says it's even better than last year's version.
Do not buy this book
I found most of the information in the book either useless or outdated. I returned the book as soon as I realized I am never going to make any use of it.
The book is useless, all the information can be found on websites of the respective medical schools, and that costs you nothing. You can find similar (but free) printed resources summarizing admission requirements published by The Careers Group.
