Customer Reviews

An Interesting Read, though not written by Fiona Horne herself.4
I ordered this book the other day and I'm now half way through it. I would first like to state that this book is not written by Fiona Horne herself, she only edits the book. However, she does add a few of her own articles to the book so it does have 'some' of her writing in here but not much. The book is a big one and is in article form i.e. lots of different authors contribute to it, each writing their own articles. Topics include a wide range of subjects (far too many to list here) from beginners stuff to more advanced subjects and it has some great authors contributing, including; Raymond Buckland, Janet and Stewart Ferrar, Phyllis Curott, Ly de Angeles, Christopher Penczak, Wendy Rule, Oberon and Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart and many more. So as you can see, Ms Horne has surprised us all by pulling this very interesting and intriguing book out of her Witchy hat and I have to give her a thumbs up for that. Though I'm not keen on the articles she wrote; How Spells Work an Interview with Ly de Angeles and one regarding her experience in the TV programme Mad, Mad House, I did enjoy the other authors articles and found them diverse and original. This book is definitely different and covers topics which you won't find in other Witchcraft books, and with this I recommend it quite highly.

That woman.............3
From the reviews I have read elsewhere people seemed a little miffed that Miss Horne only editted the book and had very little (although bye no meanes nothing) to do with the content.
Frankly that was the reson I bought the book, I wanted other possibly not so well known writings on wicca.
I was also interested in the promise of a section on "gay witchcraft" unfortunatly it was just that and i felt had very little to say to lesbian wiccans.
Most of the articles seemed familiar and I relised that many are to be found on web sites for free.
There where some thought provoking articles though , so it wasn't a total wast, but once again I feel we are reminded that wicca is a world of celebrities and Fiona Horne,
or the publisher has made sure that the only four pictures that feeture in the book are of fiona.
If you are relativly or very familliar with wicca and just want some interesting articles this is a good book.If you are just starting out it may not prove so helpfull it is not really an explination in the basics.
If you want to read Fiona Horne buy a Fiona Horne book ,if you want to hear somone else for a change this isn't a bad book.
