Editorial Reviews
Patrick Macias - Author of TokyoScope: The Japanese Cult Film Companion, and staff writer for ANIMERICA
"Hideshi Hino is more than a world-class master of the macabre - he's also a grue-soaked manga genius."
Paul Gravett, author of Manga: Sixty Years of Japanese Comics
"Hideshi Hino is a visionary of relentless, escalating darkness."
About the Author
Hideshi Hino was born in China in 1946 and soon after moved to Tokyo with his mother. The immediate post-war landscape and widespread destruction that struck him then reoccur throughout his work, as do the grotesquely depicted characters - many tormented by twisted spines, deformed eyes and misshapen bodies. This inimitable style has helped make him the undisputed master of Japanese horror manga.
