ok but not a 'step-by-step guide'4
If what you are looking for is a discussion on different aspects of bilingualism, then this is a good book for you. If what you are looking for is clear guidance on how to raise a bilingual child, then this book may leave you frustrated. It keeps telling you pros and cons and debating different views and opinions, but it does not give you well defined guidelines, it is not a 'step-by-step guide' as you are promised on the cover.

excellent4
we loved this book. we both read it and found it really interesting. generally these books suffer from a lack of practical advice, but this book was more practical than most. that being said, there's still a bit of theory to slog through, but we found it interesting and helpful background.
