Customer Reviews

Yet another fantastic book from the masters of lateral thinking!5
Paul Sloane and Des MacHale have together over the years produced many books on lateral thinking. I was delighted yesterday to be given this book of theirs which I hadn't seen before. Whether intended for corporate training exercises, or whiling away long car journeys with small children, this book contains enough puzzles to satsify the hungriest of fans, and ranges in difficulty from the fairly easy to the far more thought-provoking. Guaranteed to delight and infuriate in equal measure. Certainly something here for everyone. Highly recommended!

Please sir, can we have some more?5
As a personal trainer and speaker in creativity, I have found Paul's books all very useful and inspirational in trying to make my audiences become aware of how our minds are wired, and how we need to challenge assumptions and learn to 'think out of the box'. This book takes on where all the others left off, with an abundance of stories and situations, some from real life, that will turn any boring evening or presentation, into a fun filled 'mental aerobic' exercise. I have personally used the puzzles with various audiences of all ages, and always thoroughly enjoyed the laughter inevitably generated as suggestions are put forward in attempts to arrive at the correct solution. I will close this review with a comment made to me by a young female student at the end of yet another enjoyable 'lateral thinking puzzles ' session, " Please, sir, can we have some more?" More indeed, I hope Paul and Des can keep the supply coming as readers appreciate the effect that lateral thinking can have in their lives.

Puzzles are daft2
I wonder if the other reviewers read the same book as me! I found the "solutions" to range from daft to completely arbitrary. The questions are under-specified and often there are many alternative answers, many better than the ones give here. I didn't get an "oh yes" feeling to any of the answers when I read them.

On the whole, I wish I'd saved my money.
