Superb Course for the Advanced Learner.5
This is a superb course for the advanced learner (you really need to be AT LEAST post GCE level, or have spent a reasonable amount of time living in France). This course is targeted primarily at the self-study learner, but I even found it useful as a backup to my undergraduate studies. There is plenty of conversation and listening practice on the cassettes, and the course covers contemporary subjects such as the environment, health, tourism, French national holidays and the French press. I only have one small quibble in that the grammar covered, although advanced, is quite brief and you would perhaps expect a course of this level to be more thorough. However, I suspect the author has kept grammar to a minimum perhaps in an effort to ensure that the course is 'user-friendly'. All in all a very good course that is well worth the money.
