Set book for Open University TM4xx series Projects4
This book is the set book for the B.Sc. (Honours) Degree programme level projects that the Open University offer.

In addition, this book is also introduced and recommended within the Open University T209 Communication and Technology course, as well as a number of their other courses that they run.

The book is well written, clearly presented and easily absorbed by the reader. Stanton highlights a number of useful techniques in improving all aspects of communications; that is written, reading and speaking.

A book choosen well by the Open University, serving you equally well on a number of the Open University courses! At this price, its a bargain too!

Masterful Communication5
Like many other reviewers, I was introduced to this book as a student of The Open University. It is clear, concise, detailed, well-indexed, and uses a wealth of excellent examples.

Working as a technical author and teacher, I have made this a refernce text alongside Roget, Fowler and the OED. I would not be without it. From the "Presenting Information" unit of many A-Level ICT syllabii to dissertations and theses, this is an invaluable source of reference for the student.

For the author, its uses range from ideas on writing for different audiences to rather better grammatical guidance than is sometimes provided by a word processor!

For the teacher, its coverage of everything from styles of presentation to clear examples of grammar make it a book that I feel should be essentail reading as part of any route to Qualified Teacher status.

From 'Giving a talk' to 'Being interviewed for a job', it has sections that should be of use to almost anybody. To this end, I would go further than technical communication; any teacher and every post-16 student should find this book useful. Many will join me in finding it indispensable.

Communication Reviewed4
A clear consice and well written book, detailing all aspects of communication. It's well thought out structure starts with the basics of reading and writing and explores various other forms of verbal and pysical means of communicating, from job interviews to formal presentations. Not only a book for those who are studing particular courses at school or college, but a good and interesting read for those wishing to improve thier everyday confidence and knowlegde. I found the book very useful and I still refer to it now for hints and tips, ready to help me face the world!
