This popular title in the at a Glance series is structured into seven sections which reflect the full range of paediatrics and the real–life presentation of children. With new material on childhood obesity, allergy and living with chronic illness, Paediatrics at a Glance reflects the changing face of modern paediatrics and now features:
- Organisation by presenting symptom or problem, making the text highly relevant to clinical practice and problem–based learning
- Key points on history, examination and investigations listed with each presentation for rapid revision
- Expanded material on investigations, congenital abnormalities, newborn screening and immunisations
- Highly visual colour presentation and self–assessment case studies to make revision more rewarding
Paediatrics at a Glance is an ideal companion for anyone about to start a paediatric attachment or module and will appeal to medical students, junior doctors and GP trainees. In addition, the text will provide valuable insight for nursing students, physiotherapists and other health professionals.

Paediatric Nursing
"Part of the "At a Glance" series, it is a very useful introduction to pediatrics for medical students, residents, general practitioners and pediatric nurses. It covers in 7 sections the major fields of pediatrics, including how to take the history (the doctor looks at the mother and child and not at the computer). Each topic has illustrations (drawings or photos), key points, tables, all very didactic." Pediatric Endocrinology Reviews
“Well written at a level suitable for medical students, the book is an excellent companion … as well as jumping off point for further investigation.” Doody′s Book Reviews

Customer Reviews
A good 'glance' across paeds
This book is thin enough to read in a day before an exam, but it really is "at a glance" (can't complain about that; it's what it says on the cover) and is definitely no substitute for a proper textbook. It gives a good overview of each topic (a double-page spread per subject) and presents the 'key facts' diagramatically - in black and white, which is fine, although some colour would be helpful too.
Will cover your ass during revision
I'm a big fan of concise/review texts, but sometimes one of them stands out... for every specialty the question is, will it be "At a Glance", "Crash Course", "Illustrated Colour Text" etc.
For paeds, it's Paediatrics At a Glance. A double page spread for all the key symptoms and areas you need to know for the paeds exams, including random stuff like making up a feed, correct use of growth charts etc.
It's not a primary textbook but you will be cuddling it at night with a smile on your face come revision time. Buy it and sleep easy.
Great
New chapters are obesity, allergy, living with chronic illness and the collapsed child. Coloured. As good as older versions. Great pictures that help you remember causes etc. Although some FLKs are pictured, too.
