Editorial Reviews

Review
"This is a good complete respiratory book, brief enough to be able to use as a quick and easy book to look up." (BMA Medical Book Competition – Programme and Award Winners, September 2008)

"Lecture Notes in Respiratory Medicine is concise and easy to read. It walks you through the essentials such as physiology and pulmonary function tests before taking you through each key repiratory pathology. The diagrams and radiological images make it enjoyable and effortless to read." Medical Student, Oxofrd University

"Best respiratory textbook to use – all you need to cover in one small book. Simple and concise, there is sufficient detail to cover PBL, the content is first rate. Section on radiology makes the practical aspects less daunting...The only book needed for respiratory medicine – ideal for revision or learning as you go, its size makes it ideal to carry with you so it′s available to dip into when needed. Plenty of diagrams to catch the eye." Medical Student, University of East Anglia

lecture notes: respiratory medicine review4
This book contains really good information on the core respiratory conditions including a lot of detail on how to disgnose and treat them. If you're looking for a book with information on the rarer respiratory diseases then this is probably not for you but for medical students and junior doctors looking for an introduction to respiratory medicine or to go over the basics then it is really good.

Excellent, concise, easy read4
As a physiotherapy student, "Bourke &Brewis" (referring to an earlier edition) was recommended to me by one of my tutors for basic information on the main cardiorespiratory conditions.

The main bulk of the book does cover conditions, with a little on history taking, PFTs and radiology. The information is well organised and it's a fairly easy read. The diagrams are a little dull (black & white & pale blue) but clear.

Well worth having.
