v useful BOFs and EMIs
it's really hard to find good questions for exams but these are excellent. i think the questions in this book are much better pitched to finals than many of the pastest books which are often a bit too easy.
what they call MCQs here are not like the MCQs at my medical school (i.e. not the true/false/don't know style). these are best of fives - which is much better because most med school exams are using best of fives now anyway. MRCP also uses best of fives so it's good to get into the habit!
the explanations are brilliant, really thorough.
the only slightly annoying thing for non-finalists will be that there's no topic index by which you can pick out subject-specific questions. if you can be bothered to go through and find all the questions relevant to each topic it would certainly be useful for term exams as well.
excellent for finals.
Some dodgy questions but otherwise a good book
Revising for finals now consisting of both MCQs and EMQs. This is a comparatively good book to others on the market right now if you, like me, learn from doing questions. Some dodgy questions with debatable answers but otherwise check your Oxford handbook/current guidelines and you'll be ok.
Disappointing
I went through several books reviews to try to find a good one and not spend all my money in lots of books that weren't good. I bought this one due to all the great reviews it had. When I got it, I went through the first paper and it's full of mistakes!!! At first I thought I had to revise more and maybe I got it wrong, but when I got my OHCM the answers were there... I certainly do not advise this book to revise for finals.
