Product Description

Flat Stanley Stanley Lambchop wakes up one morning to find a notice-board has dropped on him in the night, leaving him happy and healthy, but only half an inch thick. It's a little unusual, but he finds he can fly like a kite, be sent on holiday through the post and can use his special new skills to catch some art thieves. Still, he's glad when his brother Arthur thinks to use the bicycle pump to inflate him back to his normal shape.

Customer Reviews

It is a very imaginative book and we all enjoyed reading it4
Thank you for selling Flat Stanley. It is a really great book. We are a class of Year 3 and 4 pupils from Johnstown Junior School, Wrexham and we all liked it.

Stanley is flat because he got squashed by a bulletin board. He has a brother called Arthur who says 'Hey' a lot, and who is jealous of Stanley. Stanley goes on lots of really exciting adventures, he even becomes a hero! If you read it you will go on an adventure too.

Great for reluctant readers5
I recommend this book to any 6/7 year old who is struggling with reading. Having bought virtually every book suitiable for his age, this was the first book my dyslexic 7 year old boy was happy/keen to read. I read a page, he read a page, without his usual reluctance. Storyline of child squashed by a notice board and then sent to America in an envelope (so his parents could save on the airfare) captured his imagination and he wanted to see what happened.

great 20 years ago still great today5
I read this book every summer holiday when I visited my grandparents. Back then it took me so long to read (probably felt like War & Peace does now), but my husband bought me a copy for my 30th birthday and I read it again and still loved it, but this time it took less than an hour!! I think we would all love to be like Stanley and be sent to far away places through the post (or is that just me?) or fly like a kite. Can't wait to read it to my sons when they are a bit older.
