Product Description

This awe-inspiring collection of over 500 amazing photographs will open your eyes to the wonders of life under the canopy. The result of nature photographer, Thomas Marent’s 16-year journey across five continents, Rainforest celebrates the fascinating behaviour and incredible variety of rainforest animals and plants – from resourceful leaf-cutter ants to the multi-hued clouds of butterflies and birds that flutter high in the tree tops. Incredibly, more is known about our universe than the millions of plant and animal species that teem inside these great hothouses of life. Rainforest takes you inside this mysterious realm, with breathtaking photographs and absorbing personal insight. Published in association with the Rainforest Foundation, who receive a donation for every copy sold.

Amazing!!!!!!!!5
The synopsis on the reverse of this book tells of a 16 year journey through some of the most amazing places on the plant. because of this you expext the images to be truly brilliant and they are. having seen some preview images i was astounded by the quality but when you actually get the book in your hands the quality screems out to you in a blaze of colour and clarity.

I think that this book is the most amazing book i have ever seen and have now made it my favourite book. Being a passionate nature photographer i have found all the inspiration i will ever need.

Anyone who is interested in photography, nature or anything really will thoroughly enjoy this book. A visual masterpiece!

Superlative nature photography5
Marent's labour of love and devotion receives epic treatment from his publishers. The images are sensitive, feeling and without exception a delight to the eye - and a prayer for preservation. The reproduction is from some of the best drum scanning I've ever seen, and is itself some of the best mass printing I've ever seen - and I know about print production. At the Amazon discounts, this book is a steal - and it may inspire to do what you can to help preserve the glory which are the earth's rain forests. Perfect Christmas present, by the way.

Stunning5
I originally bought this book because I assumed it was a factual book about the rainforest and its inhabitants. However, I was mistaken- but I'm glad that I was, because I wouldn't have acquired it otherwise. This book is completely stunning. The photography is amazing as are the numerous anecdotes inside, mapping the photographer's journey into the rainforest, and his encounters therein. There is also sparse information here and there.

This book is not a factual book where you get to memorise facts about the rainforest, but it is a fantastic compilation of photographs and anecdotes, which you probably won't see in many other books.

I recommend this!
