Product Description

This title features four specially selected episodes of Radio 4's much-loved panel game, hosted by Nicholas Parsons. First broadcast in 1968, "Just a Minute" is one of the longest-running radio comedy shows. A national institution, it is also loved and listened to all around the world. These four episodes find regulars Paul Merton and Clement Freud attempting to talk non-stop for sixty seconds, along with special guests Graham Norton, Gyles Brandreth, Phill Jupitus, Jenny Eclair, Marcus Brigstocke, Tony Hawks, Sue Perkins, Julian Claryand Chris Addison. Among the subjects hilariously tackled are the Scottish play, the A to Z, an infinite number of monkeys, Leonardo da Vinci, The Famous Five, discovering America, Adam's apple, the end of time and little green men. Join host Nicholas Parsons and the distinguished panellists, as they use their intellect, imagination and verbal dexterity to beat the clock and win the points in these four ferociously funny shows.

Customer Reviews

Very good - long may it continue4
Just a Minute goes from strength to strength, and 2008 was no exception. These are 4 very good performances, with stalwarts Paul Merton, Nicholas Parsons and Sir Clement Freud being the core of an always enjoyable programme.

The reason why I'm giving this double CD only four stars, however, is that despite it being uniformly very good, there are few moments which are truly memorable; rewind moments, if you will. Usually these occur outside of the minute, and while there are a few, some about the chairman and one about a friend who emigrated to Canada, there are fewer of these than in previous years.

If you can only buy someone one Just a Minute this year, I would suggest buying Just a Classic Minute volume 5 instead (see my review of that double CD). But you will not be disappointed in buying this particular set.
