Product Description

Law of the European Community provides a concise and non-abstract treatment of European Community Law.  The first section focuses on the institutions and general principles of EC law in some depth, while the remaining three parts focus on the main principles of substantive law: the free movement of persons and services, and rights of establishment; the free movement of goods; and competition law.  The book is ideally suited to undergraduate students of European Law, modular, and distance-learning courses.

Fairhurst: Law of the European Union 5e

This updated fifth edition of Law of the European Union, provides a realistic, non-abstract treatment of EU Law. The book is divided into four parts. The first part of the book focuses on the constitutional and administrative law of the European Communities and the European Union. The last three parts of the book focus on substantive EU Law: free movement of persons (including EU citizenship, workers, services and establishment); free movement of goods; and Competition law.

Customer Reviews

excellent & informative5
This book provided me with a sound knowledge base of european law. It is well written and easy to digest, an absolute must for anyone new to the subject.

Easy Read4
Some law books are very heavy on the head, but this law book is easy to follow and explain basic principles before building on more complex principles. It has everything you need though so it's not just a beginner book, I bought another EU law book previously but it was just pages of words without any bullet points or bold for cases, this book does all that so it's much easier to soak up

best EU law book5
After checking many EU law books to study and pass the GDL exam, I decided that this is the best one providing all the information I needed to pass the exam, in a clear and learner-friendly way with many decision trees, or diagrams to help learners visualize important topics.
As the texbook provided by the college was rather dull to read, I decided to find a replacement and saw this book. It definitely helped me love the subject and pass the exam.
