THE reference book for anaesthetic equipment.4
This book is essential for those wishing to understand anaesthetic and operating theatre equipment. It gives an excellent overview of the physics involved aswell as accurate data and pictures of all the commonly used equipment. Useful topics include ventilators and breathing systems. Other of interest topics are electric shock and invasive monitors. The new local anaesthetic section is of little value, but nice to see it written down at last. Overall FRCA or ODP candidate - BUY IT.

Reference guide to anaesthetic equipment5
This is a long overdue and much needed update of the 4th edition of this book. It offers a comprehensive and succinct overview of the modern anaesthetic department, including applied information technology, and monitoring depth of anaesthesia. The inspired choice of author (a pilot), offers a fascinating chapter on human error and machine interaction. As an Operating Department Practitioner/Lecturer I will most certainly be recommending this book to my students, though the price is somewhat prohibitive.
